My new project!

Hey everyone!

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do when I grow up. Mainly, I want to be a writer, and so I have decided to get as much experience as I can.

So I have started a podcast! To everyone who, (like me a year ago) has no idea what a podcast is. Basically, it is a way to put audio or video up on the Internet for all to see. My podcast will be based on my favorite audio drama, Adventures in Odyssey (no surprise there). The main reason I am making a podcast is so I can gain experience in writing and sound production. These are two of the things I want to do when I grow up. Since my main objective is to work on AIO, I think it will be a good idea to have experience in these areas.

What will it be like? Simple answer, a little like AIO, in the way that it is fun to listen to, and characters have fun together. But it will also be a podcast where I discuss AIO episodes and latest AIO news.

Well, now that you know what it is like, I should tell you what it's called. It is called, "The World Famous Odyssey Podcast". There are two reasons behind the name.

1. The main objective (or so people say) of the podcast is to be a world famous podcast someday.

2. If you abbreviate the four words, you get "Wod Fam Od Pod". This is a small reference to the famous drink, "World Famous Chocolate Soda", or "Wod Fam Choc Sod" in the AIO radio drama.

My good friend, Michael Wilmot (he is from Australia!) is really good at art and he made the official art for my podcast. That is what the picture on this post is. (The actual art is his, and the border was my idea)

So there you have it! All the info about my new podcast. Well, everything but the website. And to tell you the truth, I am still working on that. I have a temporary blog for it, but I will probably use a different URL. But for the time being, you can check it out at www.wodfamodpod.blogspot.com.

I should have the next episode out soon, so be watching!

Until next time! ~Ryan M.

Valentines Day. What to put on cards...

Hi everyone! It has been about a month since I last posted. Today, I am posting about the traditional Valentines day card poem. You know the one:

"Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you."

Here is my response to this poem. I wrote my own. Here it is:

"My input on Valentines Day"

'Roses are red, Violets are blue.
That's what they say and it just isn't true.
Whoever wrote that might go back to school.
I KNOW violets are violet.
Do they think I'm a fool?
If I'm gonna put a poem on a card,
I want something true, solid, and hard.
If you want to write poems that rhyme and are great,
First, please make sure that you get your facts straight.
Let's go back to the beginning, let's go back to the start.
Let's make a new poem that is actually smart.
The first step we'll take is to make the facts true.
But we'll also make it rhyme, cause that's cool too.
Second, let's make sure it's original, and ours.
But I'm not sure if we'll still use the flowers.
Someone has done that, the theme is not new.
But it's not my decision, it's up to you.
If you want to make poems on Valentines cards,
Remember that rhyming will be somewhat hard.
A quick note would be fine,
It doesn't have to sound awesome.
It doesn't have to mention different colored blossoms.
Use capitalization, punctuation, be neat.
This one special person will think THAT quite a feat.
If you want to make a poem that is pretty and an art,
One thing to make sure of,
Is that it comes, from the heart.'

Yes, I wrote that myself. Even though this is true, I couldn't fit it on a card. Maybe I should shorten it for next year...

Happy Valentines Day! ~Ryan M.

A New Year!!! And update.

Wahoo! 2012!!! Happy New Year everybody!

Right now, I am in New Mexico. We took a road trip and along the way, we stopped in Colorado to see Focus on the Family and visit Brock Eastman. He showed us some really cool stuff and we got to meet some of the people who work on Adventures in Odyssey. Thank you Brock, for everything.

While we were driving, I took lots of cool pictures. Most of them are horizons photographed from the car window. Once we got to New Mexico and had settled in at our house, I started making a crazy video. I was thinking about how ridiculous infomercials are so I made my own ridiculous infomercial. I 'm actually going to post it on YouTube within a day or two. Just search, "97RyanCummings" and you will find my videos.

In my next post, I will show some of the pictures taken while traveling.

Until next time! ~Ryan M.

Awesomeness!!!

I got another awesome offer from Brock Eastman! After I did the reviews on HowlSage, he asked me to do a daily review on his blog about his other book, Taken!

It is an awesome book and great for people who like sci-fi/ action books. It also has the kind of technology of star wars movies (space ship, Hyper Flight, and sky scooters!)

It is an awesome book! (I know I already said it but this book warrants more than one "awesome" praise) and I highly recommend it. If you do decide to read it, it would be great if you could go to www.thequestfortruthbooks.com and read my posts and comment on them!

Until next time! ~Ryan M.

How God Has Blessed Me

So, I haven't posted on here for a while. Here what's been going on so far.

My favorite thing that happened was that Brock Eastman, my favorite writer, asked me to discuss his book chapters each day of October on his blog at www.thequestfortruthbooks.blogspot.com! It has been an honor for me to do that! Thank you Brock Eastman for the opportunity!

Also, I got album 54 of Adventures in Odyssey! It was a great set! Now I can't wait for album 55. I also went on a scavenger hunt all around Noblesville with my church. That was lots of fun too! (I will repay you Zach for doing me that favor)

Another great honor was to get to play for my praise band at Awana! I am sorry I haven't been posting any comics lately. I am still trying to think of lots of great ones so that I can perfect them and give lots of them.

Okay, this is a new habit. I got it when posting on Brock Eastman's blog. Now I sign my name at the bottom of my post.

Until next time! ~Ryan M.

Book signing in Illinois!

The week before last, I got to go to a book signing in Illinois. Brock Eastman was signing his books, Howlsage, Taken, and Showdown With the Shepherd. I bought all of them and got them all signed by Brock. For those of you who have no idea who I am talking about, Brock Eastman job is marketing for Focus On the Family and he has written the books I just mentioned. He and I both like Adventures in Odyssey and I got to take a picture with him. It was great to meet you Brock!
